Brown corundum
Brown corundum, also known as corundum, is a brown artificial corundum made by melting and reducing three kinds of raw materials such as alumina, carbon material and iron filings in an electric arc furnace.
The main chemical composition of brown corundum is Al2O3, its content is 95.00% -97.00%, and it also contains a small amount of Fe, Si, Ti and so on.
Production Process
Raw material sorting → electrolytic smelting → crushing → ferromagnetic separation → screening → physical and chemical inspection → finished product packaging → inventory
Characteristics of brown alumina
Brown corundum is the most basic abrasive, because of its good grinding performance, wide range of application, and low price, it is widely used.
Application
- Sand blasting .
- Free grinding.
- Resin abrasive.
- Coated with abrasive.
- Hydraulic cutting abrasive.
- Refractory materials.
Features
Brown corundum has the advantages of high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, high hardness, high strength, wear resistance, good crystallinity, and low expansion coefficient.
